End of term examinations

Exams will be held between 21st November and December 9th for all students. Examinations will not be everyday but over a 2 week period in order to impact less on teaching and learning. All students are expected to revise as part of their homework, everything studied to date in the current academic year.  

Open evening – Thursday October 6th 2016

LJFS Open evening will take take on Thursday October 6th 2016. This is a fantastic opportunity to have a look more closely at our ethos, curriculum and facilities. All prospective Year 7 students, their families and friends are invited to attend. It is also a  good chance to talk to students and teachers in all subject areas and take part in various activities. If you have any questions or are unable to attend you are welcome to make an appointment by calling 0113 269 3176.

School Calendar Update

With the upcoming holidays nearly upon us, please be aware school will be closed on: Monday 3rd October 2016 Tuesday 4th October 2016 Tuesday 11th October 2016 is a half day and LJFS closes at 1300 Wednesday 12th October 2016 Monday 17th October 2016 Tuesday 18th October 2016   Please also note the end of the academic year for 2016 -17 has been changed to Friday July 7th 2017  

The new school year starts!

The staffing of LJFS has moved into its next phase with the school now formally employing some of its staff itself for the first time.  This might seem like a strange change as many might assume that it has employed staff all along. Since opening all the staff have been employed by either the Rodillian Academy or Brodetsky Jewish Primary School ( BJPS ).  As the school enlarged it was always the intention to start employing its staff whilst maintaining a strong relationship with both Rodillian and BJPS. Historic Occasion as Leeds Jewish Free School Formally Opens

LJFS, the UK’s first Jewish secondary Free School, was officially opened on 20th March 2014 marking a historic occasion for the Jewish community in Leeds. The ceremony, led by our Headteacher, Mr Jeremy Dunford, marked the realisation of a vision many years in the making. The Free School is an invaluable resource to the Leeds Jewish Community allowing secondary education to be accessed in the region. The number of attendees from the local community reflected the importance of the school and the support it has gained from individuals and groups across West Yorkshire. Students settling into life at LJFS

After all the excitement of opening, our first cohort of students are settling into life in their brand new secondary school. The pupils have settled in amazingly well and look fantastic in their new uniform. Each student has their own iPad, which have gone down a storm and have been used well already both in lessons and socially. The Rodillian staff have planned and are now delivering outstanding secular education on site. Our students are fully enjoying the rarified environment that we can offer in the first year.
