LJFS Annual Assembly and Form time Programme

Introduction

At LJFS, our morning routine of form time and davening reflects our identity as a proud Jewish faith school. Each day begins with meaningful prayer, grounding pupils in the values, festivals, and ethical teachings of Judaism while nurturing their spiritual growth and sense of connection. Alongside davening, form time provides structured activities that support pupils’ wider development as young citizens in modern Britain—promoting Fundamental British Values, strengthening personal character, safeguarding wellbeing, and exploring key RSHE themes. Guided by their form tutors, pupils start each morning with a balance of faith, reflection, community‑building, and personal development that reinforces who we are as a school and the responsibilities we hold within both the Jewish community and wider society.

On Wednesdays, our assembly programme reflects our identity as a proud Jewish faith school. Judaism, its values, its festivals, and its ethical teachings provide the foundation of our weekly gatherings. Interwoven through this are the wider responsibilities we hold as a school in modern Britain: promoting Fundamental British Values, supporting pupils’ spiritual growth, strengthening personal character, ensuring safety and wellbeing, and addressing key RSHE themes. Each week, our Chair of Governors, Dan Cohen, leads the school community in an assembly that brings together faith, culture, citizenship, and personal development in a meaningful and age‑appropriate way.
