Admissions Consultation
Leeds Jewish Free School
2022/23 Admissions Consultation
The governing body of Leeds Jewish Free School (LJFS) are currently consulting on changes to the school’s admissions policy for the 2022/23 Academic Year.
The consultation period will run from 25th November 2020 until 8th January 2021. During this time, individuals and organisations are invited to express their views and any concerns about the proposed changes to the admission arrangements at Leeds Jewish Free School.
The following amendments to the LJFS admission arrangements have been proposed:
The Planned Admission Number (PAN) to be increased from 25 students to 26 students.
The change is being proposed as the governing body believe that due to the increased demand for secondary places at a school with a strong Jewish ethos, an increase in PAN will alleviate the pressure for places without having a detrimental impact on the bespoke and inclusive nature of the provision at Leeds Jewish Free School. The Leadership Team and governing body have considered the proposal carefully and are satisfied that the proposed changes will result in a positive impact for the school and the wider community.
The proposed Admissions Policy for the 2022/23 academic year is available to download here: Admissions Policy
In accordance with statutory DfE guidance, the consultation will run for at least six weeks and we are keen to hear your views on the proposed changes; therefore, we invite you to participate in the consultation if you have any concerns regarding the matter.
All responses to the consultation should be made in writing and submitted before 12 noon on Friday 8th January 2021 to the Clerk to Governors at: sarah.ferguson@amf-projects.com.
Please note that written responses should outline your personal details, including your name, address and relationship to the school.
At the end of the consultation period, the governing board will meet to consider responses. The outcome of the consultation will be published on the school website as soon as possible following a decision being reached by the board. Hard copies of the final report will be made available on request to all respondents of the consultation.
If you require a hard copy of this information, please contact the school office.
